Spring is here & summer is just around the corner!

Eventhough this year might not be filled with as many holidays & social life as before but it seems busier summer is waiting for us this year. With many places opening, it again became a priority to get in shape & to look our best. Many of us has lost the motivation during the months of lockdown, but with life returning back, it's time restart or start your fitness journey.

So here are 5 simple tips to help you in the following months:

1. Pick a realistic goal & take it step by step

Now that you have the motivation to exercise again, don't fall into the mistake of wanting to achieve all of your fitness goals right now. If you're excpectations are too high & you goals ar unrealistic, you migh lose your motivation again. Pick something that is simple & fits into your life and approach it step by step. You can always add another goal if you've achived one & these small wins contribute so much to your confidence & will inspire you to do more.

2. Nutrition is key

Yes, exercising is important and will help you towards your goal, but don't forget about nutrition!

You don't neccessary have to count your calories strictly or start a drastic diet, but rather being more mindful of what you're eating & how much, will help you loads. You don't even have to say goodbye to all your favorite foods because you can always search for ways to make your meals healthier or just simply have them less frequently than before.

3. Don't skip rest days & have enough sleep

Recovery also plays a huge part in your fitness journey. By allowing your muscles to recover with rest day/days & enough sleep you will be able to achieve much better results.

4. Get your mindset right

What I mean by this is, if you don't have clear vision of what you want to achieve, what you need to do to get there, what changes you have to make & the determintation it is going to require, then you're much more likely to fall of track. If you know all the above before you start, it's easier to stay motivated & even if you experience some setbacks it will be easier to keep going, because you know why you've started this journey in the first place.

5. Mix up your workouts

Doing the same workouts, with the same exercises can get very boring sometimes. If this happens to me I always try something new like:

- Changing up the exercises or the way your workouts are structured

- Change of scenery - exercising somewhere you don't usually ( outdoors/gym/at home)

- Trying a different style of workout

- Get workout buddy & exercise together

These can make working out more fun & enjoying your workouts will help to keep your motivation up :)

These are my tips for today & I hope they help with starting / restarting your fitness journey.

Stay Happy & Healthy,

Sofi
