My Weight-Loss Journey | Before & After

I've written about my weight-loss journey on my Instagram a couple of times but I've never shared the whole story before so here it is:
Losing weight has been on the back of my mind for a long time, probably years if I'm honest. For these years I neglected exercising after finishing dancing professionally. Then finally I felt like I needed to do some kind of physical activity to don't get too lazy so I got into yoga & pilates. This helped me a lot with getting back into shape and was feeling great for a couple of months. However it didn't take long until I started gaining weight again.
In the meantime I decided to go vegan mainly becuase I was not eating much meat anyway and I thought it might help with eating better as well. I didn't know at the time but this decision made everything 10x worse.
I started to gain even more weight and I felt horrible about my body because I didn't understand what I was doing wrong. To compensate the weight gain I started working out like crazy. Around 6 times a week and 3 hours a day which contained at least 1 hour of torturous cardio. I did this in the beginning of lockdown for at least a month before getting to the point where it was no longer sustainable. And not just that it wasn't sustainable I actually didn't lose any weight...
This was the turning point for me. I knew from here that I had to make a change and I have to find a way where I'm actually able to see results. I wasn't sure where to start but luckily a friend recommended me a book which was: Cleanse to Heal by Anthony Williams. First I started reading the book as a sceptic because I wasn't sure if anything works for me anymore. But after all I decided to give the cleansing that's in the book a try.
For 2 weeks or so I only ate fruits & vegetables and that really allowed my body to reset. I feel like this was a smooth way to transform my eating habits because I wasn't starving myself, I always ate enough and discovered that vegetables can be just as tasty & filling as for example pasta or pizza. After these 2 weeks I was slowly beginning to bring back other foods as well but I completely cut out gluten, dairy and soy. Again I didn't have to restrict because nowadays there are countless gluten & dairy free alternatives.
I made a huge change in how I workout as well. I reduced my sessions to 4 times a week and started training with weights instead of just jumping for hours. Altough the cardio sessions mostly dissappeared from my life but I still get it done with walking.
These 2 changes together over a course of 3 months helped me to lose over 10 kgs & got me the body I always wanted. As my outer self started to change so did my inner self. I grew a lot from this experience, learned to accept & love my body and developped a much more positive mindset. It also pushed me to do some inner work and I was able to let go of many negative things from my past.
Overall I'm deeply grateful that I've gone through this experience and now after its been 6 months since I started I can confidently say I was able to keep the weight of and kept my diet the same as well without any regressions.
For the end I just want to put some before & after pictures so you can see how much I've changed. The before pictures were taken before I began the cleansing and the after was taken 3-4 months later. So here they are:
Hope sharing my journey will help some women that are having the same problems with losing weight & I will share in the future much more about what you can do about these problems.
